Everyone’s favourite native tarantula, often believed to be the largest species in Australia. But as you can tell by the long thin legs this is simply not true, being trumped in mass by several locales. Often living amongst floodplains the goliath has been known to take refuge in trees far above the ground, but usually found burrowed deep into the ground or amongst tin/logs.
