Selenotypus plumipes “type locale form” Adults
Max size: 160mm
Distribution: Tablelands FNQ
Habitat: Obligate burrower of dry eucalyptus forests
Feeding: Appropriate sized feeder insects, medium crickets, woodies and BSF are ideal
The Selenotypus plumipes is without a doubt one of the most besutiful tarantula species in Australia with their long thick pilo-erect hairs on their 4th legs giving them their nickname “feather legs”
The type locale or southern form is darker and smaller in general than the Northern and Rose plumipes but by no means less spectacular.
